Mary Jolene (Morris) Reid of Katy, Texas, was born on December 4th, 1947, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Harold and Audrey Morris (both deceased) and went to be with the Lord on August 15th 2017 after a prolonged illness.
Due to her father's work, her family moved frequently, so she attended schools in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming, before graduating High School in Beaumont, Texas.

Mary attended Gulf Coast Bible College in 1967-68 and again in 1983 to study nursing. She left her studies and over the years worked in clerical positions at Southwest Insurance and later at Clark Motors where she met Bill Earl Reid of Silsbee, Texas, a Vietnam Veteran. They were married on July 10th, 1984.
Though he had been severely wounded and suffered from PTSD in addition to critical physical wounds, through faith in God and love for each other, they were able overcome. They had no children and she lost her best friend and beloved husband on June 20, 2008.
She and Bill had resided for some years in Lumberton to be near his family and, following his passing, she returned to Katy, Texas, primarily in order to once again be an active part of their much loved former church family at the Westside Church of the Nazarene in Katy, Texas.

Mary Jolene was very close to her family and is survived by her siblings, Ruth Kadmiel and family of Israel and Charlene Morris, Carol Shell, Cathy Crunk, Jacque Spires, David Morris, William Morris, Cyrena Brown and their families, all of Texas. Her youngest brother, Douglas Morris,
preceded her in death.
She also felt close to Bill's family who mourn her passing. More than 20 beloved nieces and nephews from her family and from Bill's will miss her dearly.

Mary Jolene will be interred next to her husband at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park after a 1:00 pm service at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 4955 Pine St., Beaumont, Texas.
