Mary Lee Newton McArn was born October 11, 1920 and passed on to her heavenly home on April 24, 2017. She was the loving mother of Mary Eva Newton(John d.), Beaumont, TX; Bobbye Toney(John), Columbia, MS; Louise Prisk(friend Rodney Pleasants), Tylertown, MS; Debbie McArn Lefort(Nolan d.), Slidell, LA.
Mrs. Mary Lee was the adoring Grandmother of Steve Newton(Mary), Nederland, TX; Cynthia Henderson(Gerry), TX; Ricky Newton, Beaumont, TX; Lynn Williamson(Tommy), Ridgeland, MS; Chris Toney, Missoula, MT; Scott Prisk and Tommy Prisk, Tylertown, MS.
She was also the treasured Great Grandmother of John Zachary Newton(Stacia), Beaumont, TX; Mary Kerr(Leo)Houston, TX; Ethan, Emma, and Tyler Newton, El Dorado, KS; Megan and Hunter Henderson, TX; Andrew Williamson, Missoula, MT; John Paul Toney, Missoula, MT; Bailey Prisk, Tylertown, MS; and Great-Great Grandmother of Collin Newton, Beaumont, TX; Ellisa and Lucas Kerr, Houston, TX.
Mrs. Mary Lee is also survived by her brother whom she loved dearly, Jack Newton(Mary Lou), Woodland Hills, CA; half brother and sisters Autley Newton Jr., Hammond, LA, Sue Jane Garrett, Gallatin, TN and the late Maya Levy, Hammond, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, cherished friends, and her much loved dog, Joy.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Autley and Eva Newton, her devoted husband, Robert E. (Dick) McArn, and her precious granddaughter, Leigh Toney.
Mrs. Mary Lee grew up attending the Kokomo United Methodist Church and became a long time member of the Columbia United Methodist Church. She was a member, and served as president of the Idell Ford Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women's Night Circle for many years. She also served as communion steward and in any other way she could serve her church and community, including tutoring and helping students with their homework after school at the church. She was also a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and Calliopean Club.
Working along side her sister-in-law Edna Mae Poole and coworkers brought many years of pleasure to Mrs. Mary Lee, but her greatest joy was the love of her family which will endure forever.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Pittman and Rev. Barry Dickerson officiating. Interment was at Kokomo Cemetery.
