Mary Lou Carter, of Grand Prairie, TX was born May 30, 1932 in Moberly, Missouri to George Heiman and Ruth Griffin. Mary Lou was a librarian in Grand Prairie ISD for many years before she retired. She had a love of reading and it showed. She fostered a love of reading in many of the students that she met throughout those years. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was always close to her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved watching them all playing various sports and participating in many activities.

She passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017 in Arlington, TX. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Ken Carter, her mother Ruth Griffin, her father George Heiman, and her brother Allen Heiman.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Terri Carter of Grand Prairie, and David and Sheree Carter of Grand Prairie, her grandchildren, Wendy Massey of Flower Mound, Kenny Carter of Grand Prairie, Jason and Kendra Williams of Amarillo, Dustin Carter of Grand Prairie, Micah and Kelci Clanton of Grand Prairie, and her 7 great-grandchildren, Madison, Sierra, Austin, Carter, Abigayle, Rylee, and Pearl. As well as many nieces and nephews she loved as her own. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
