Mary Lou Maze, 89, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at Ms. Baptist Medical Center.

Visitation will be 10 am-11:30 am today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. today at Odd Follows Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS.

Mary Lou, a native of Denver, CO, survived her husband of 63 years, Lt. Col (Ret.) Jacob E. Maze USAF. During their marriage they enjoyed making many wonderful friends and memories around the nation. Assigned to Columbus AFB in 1958, the Mazes lived in Aberdeen and Columbus AFB, retiring in Columbus where they lived for 37 years. In 2003, Jake and Mary Lou moved to TracePointe Retirement Community in Clinton, MS. Mary Lou was a talented pianist and organist. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at the University of Denver and served in many leadership roles in Garden Clubs, Social Clubs, and Officers' Wives Clubs. Mary Lou and her husband considered First Baptist Church Columbus, MS, as their home church and were gracious supporters of youth and media ministry for many years.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, John Mark and Veola Hall; a sister, Dorothy Pearson; a son, John William Maze; husband, Jacob Elliott Maze; and two granddaughters, Lori Lee Perkins and Angel Michelle Robbins.

Survivors include daughter, Sandra (Arlie) Perkins of Aberdeen, MS; son, Gary (Kathy) Maze of Madison, MS; and daughter, Donna (Rob) Robbins of Clinton, MS.

Grandchildren include Lisa (Lynn) Cagle and Sherry (Jerry) Lofton, both of Hamilton, MS, Bryan (Christine) Robbins of College Park, MD, Bethany Robbins of Ft. Worth, TX, Joshua (Stacie) Maze of Memphis, TN, and Karleigh Maze of Madison, MS.

Great grandchildren include Chris Cagle, Andrew (Melissa) Cagle, Amanda Lofton, Hunter Lofton, and Gunner Lofton, all of Hamilton MS. Mary Lou had one great grandchild, Hayden Lynn Cagle.
