Mary "Penny" Sacks, 71, Kokomo, went to be with our Lord at 12:50 PM Wednesday April 22, 2015 at her residence. She was born January 13, 1944 to Paul and Katherine (Massey) Shepherd.

She graduated Kokomo High school in 1962 before working at Delco Electronics. Penny worked for Delco as a shipping clerk, amongst others, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of the UAW 292, VFW, American Legion, and 40 & 8. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, reading, and her dogs. Penny liked to watch NASCAR, Chicago bears, and her favorite TV show, Downton Abby. She went to the horse races every year with her close friends, Dan and Kelly Laxen, and had many parties at her river house with family and friends. Most of all Penny liked to spend time with her family, grandkids, and great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Paul E., Jerry D., and Michael W. Shepherd, and her daughter's father, Ronald "Buck" Sacks.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lori Sacks (Ronnie Copeland), Kokomo, Dawn Flint (Rod), Kokomo, grandchildren, Nicole McKay (Chad), Fabia Mims, Phoenix Flint, and great grandchildren, Brayden Flint, Rori McKay, Zayne Little, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Donna Whiteman, David "Tiny" Eldridge, Kay Warren, Michelle Bowser, the Cancer Center at St. Joseph Hospital, and Dr. Dianne Pfeifer, for all of their help, kindness, and support.

The services for Penny will be Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo, with Pastor Bobby Estle officiating. The family will offer visiting hours Monday April 27, 2015 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, and St. Joseph Cancer Center.
