Virginia Woodard Cutchin, age 91, of Nashville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was the daughter of the late William Coleman Woodard and Catherine Bunn Woodard, and was married to the late Henry Wheless Cutchin, Jr. for 52 years. She is preceded in death by her son, Henry W. Cutchin, III.





Mrs. Cutchin was educated at St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, NC, Majorie Webster College in Washington, DC and Edith Macy Training Center in New York City, New York. She worked as a Girl Scout Field Director for the Rocky Mount Municipal Council, also directing the Y.M.C.A Day Camps and Teen Programs locally and summer camps at The Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC. She began her teaching at The Methodist Church in Davidson, NC, Vardell Hall, Red Springs, NC, and began a Kindergarten program at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Rocky Mount. Mrs. Cutchin began a child-care program at The Church of the Good Shepherd of which she was a lifelong member. She retired after 23 years of teaching and asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to, The Church of the Good Shepherd Day Care, P.O. Box 7791, Rocky Mount, NC.





A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Church of Good Shepherd in Rocky Mount with Inurnment at the Columbarium. A reception will follow at the church.
