Obituary

Mary Dwyer (nee Moran) of Ocean City, NJ and a former resident of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 22, 2020, surrounded by her family.   She was 101 years old.   Born September 12, 1919 in Bridgeport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Turley) Moran, and the beloved wife of the late Philip Dwyer.



During World War II, Mary worked as a welder for The Budd Company doing her piece for the war effort.  After the war ended, she continued her service at the VA Hospital in Phoenixville, PA and other companies until settling down to become a homemaker.  Mary loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, cooking and watching her soaps.



Mary is survived by her three children; Patricia Dura and her husband, William,  Kathleen Dwyer, Philip Dwyer and his wife, Hanya, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Dura.



Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, James and Robert.



The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the United Methodist Communities at The Shores in Ocean City, New Jersey, for their kind, compassionate care.



Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private mass will be held for Mary at St. Titus Church in East Norriton, followed by a private burial at St. Augustine's Cemetery in King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name can be made to United Methodist Communities at The Shores, 2201 Bay Ave., Ocean City, New Jersey, 08226,  Attn:  Jessica Stewart.
