Matthew John Skidmore
1991~2015

Matthew John Skidmore, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin, returned to the arms of God on Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2015, following a long illness. Matthew was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 21, 1991 to Julie Ann Emerson Skidmore and David Joel Skidmore. At only 23 years old, Matthew left an enduring impact on all who loved and knew him and will miss his unforgettable smile, quick wit, and amazing bear hugs.

Matthew graduated from Cottonwood High School in 2010. He was a brilliant and articulate young man with an ever present and mischievous twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes. He loved animals and other living critters, playing the guitar, spending holidays with family at his grandparent's home, family vacations in Island Park, and climbing the mountain in his grandparent's back yard with his cousins.

Matthew is survived by his mother Julie, who surrounded him with unconditional love and was his most steadfast supporter and best friend; his father David and his older brother David Perry Skidmore (Krystal); his loving and much loved grandmother, Esther Emerson, who was always there for him; his aunts Mary Lou Emerson, Janie Emerson, Susan Smith (Daniel) and Elizabeth McConnell; his cousins Robert Skidmore, Michael Skidmore, and Haley McConnell; and his uncles William Skidmore, Jr., and Anthony Bozich. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Emerson, his grandfather William Skidmore and his grandmother Patricia Skidmore.

There will be an evening viewing on Monday April 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 At Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
