Maureen C. (O'Brien) Guilmette, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Guilmette.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late George L. O'Brien Sr. and Mary V. (Brady) O'Brien, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Class of 1948, she was employed at the Board of Elections for the City of Fall River for twenty three years, J.J. Newbury for ten years, and the Campfire Girls office under the United Way for over three years.

A lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, she volunteered at their soup kitchen and was a past president of their Woman's Guild. A member of the Holy Union associate's, she was also a recipient of the Marion Medal presented by Bishop George W. Coleman in 2009. She was an active member of her community and was an avid walker. She is now an active member of Holy Name Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Guilmette and his wife Patricia of PA and William F. Guilmette and his wife Deborah of Fall River; two daughters, Susan M Guilmette of Fall River and Maureen V. Perreira and her husband Michael of Fall River; a cousin, Jean Power; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was the sister of the late John F. "Buddy" O'Brien and George L. O'Brien Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Visitation Monday May 8, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Contributions in her honor may be made to: Holy Union Sisters Administration, P.O.
