Maureen Elizabeth LeBlanc Morel, age 70, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Richardson, Texas. She is survived by her husband Steve, her two daughters, Shannon Morel and Janet Morel and by her younger sister, Janis Tassin. Preceded in death by her father, Byron John LeBlanc, her mother, Virgie Graffeo LeBlanc and her older sister, Paulette LeBlanc Dietrich.

Maureen, lovingly known as "Mo", was a treasure to all who knew her through the love that she expressed in her caring and compassionate ways. Mo was an avid reader, historian and sports fanatic. She loved anything to do with LSU and her beloved Tigers!

Born in Baton Rouge, she was a true Louisianan, who loved everything "Cajun". A product of Catholic primary schools and Charity School of Nursing she lived her true calling by loving people and taking care of others. She migrated to Texas in 1971 and made the ultimate sacrifice of leaving Cajun Country! She worked at Parkland Hospital as an emergency room Head nurse and later went into private practice working for a local pediatrician.

That same passion she had for nursing also carried into her church life and her daughters' education. As a long time member of All Saints Catholic Church, she loved cooking, catering and making flower arrangements for several church related functions / occasions. She was also involved in Religious Education, fellowship and service with the ASWO, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Golden Saints, and the Caring Card Ministry.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11am with reception to follow at All Saints Catholic Church, Dallas, TX.

In lieu of flowers, Maureen would love a donation to 'The Network of Community Ministries' - thenetwork.org or call (972) 234-8880.

Arrangements under the direction of Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
