Maureen Frances Jourde, 82, of Frisco, Texas, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 29, 2017. She was born on October 7, 1934, in Brattleboro, Vermont, to the late Harold and Catherine Howe.

Maureen was a 1952 graduate of Spaulding High School in Barre, Vermont. She retired from the Plano Independent School District after 25 years of faithful service as an Executive Assistant. She was an animal lover, enjoyed traveling, and a lover of life.

Faith and family were valued most by Maureen. She was an active parishioner at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano and St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen for many years and lived out her faith in her daily life. Maureen was the epitome of unconditional love. She was devoted to her husband and family and truly desired to care for them. Spending time with her family and friends, and even her dogs, brought her great joy. She put others first and enjoyed helping others. Her optimistic outlook on life and her love for laughter made each day to be cherished for those around her. Maureen will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John David Jourde in 2016; daughter, Paula Jourde in 2012; brothers, Eugene Howe and Harold E. Howe; and sisters, Joyce Quinlan and Kathleen Howe. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Molly Jourde of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado; grandchildren, Austin, Jack, and Mary Jourde of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado; sisters, Patricia Barcomb of Port Charlotte, Florida and Elaine Sassi of Middletown, New York; niece, Kathy Bass and husband, John, of Frisco, Texas; great-nephew, Griffin Bass; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:00pm in St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Ave., Allen, TX 75002, with Fr. Andrew Semler as Celebrant.
