Maureen S. Weller was born in Bay City, MI on October 17, 1932 to the late Frank R. and Helen E. (Martin) Sweeney. She passed away October 21, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region. She married Thomas G. Weller on October 9, 1954 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2000.
She was a graduate of the University of Michigan and was a social worker for the Bay County Health Department. Maureen also assisted her mother in operating the Sub Deb Shop in Bay City. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women. Maureen was a longtime board member of the Rachel Sovereign Memorial Home and had served as president. Other memberships include the Bay City Garden Club and the Friends of the Library at Drummond Island.
Survivors include her son Christopher Thomas (Cynthia Marie) Weller, her daughter Pamela E. (Michael) Clark, her grandchildren Steven Clark and Meghan Marie Weller. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kelly J. Eurich.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Leslie M. Piper will officiate. Memorials may be made to Friends of the Library at Drummond Island or the Bay City Garden Club. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
