Maxine “Dolly” Evelyn (Wilcox) Magistri, 70, of Coventry, beloved wife of the late Richard Magistri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 with her family at her side. Born in Caribou, Maine, daughter of the late William and Violet (Tracy) Wilcox, she lived in Hartford and East Hartford for most of her life before moving to Coventry 12 years ago. She attended Sufficient Grace Church in Ellington. Dolly enjoyed painting, bingo and playing card games with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved children, Kathleen Roy and her husband Paul of Coventry, Robert Magistri and his wife Debra of Windsor and Rick Magistri and his wife Janet of East Hartford; grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer and John-Paul Roy, Rocko, Chris, Ricky, Dylan, Matthew and Anthony Magistri; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Wilcox and his wife Sue of Ellington and Rev. William Wilcox and his wife Debbie of Vernon; two sisters, Wilma Starratt and her husband Bob of Vernon, and Mary St. Jean and her husband Roger of East Hartford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Joseph Wilcox, Jack Wilcox, and Sandra Walker. Dolly’s family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Eastern Connecticut for the wonderful care and support that they provided during her illness. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, January 9th, from 5 to 7 PM at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a funeral service beginning at 7 PM. Burial will be Saturday, January 10th, 12 NOON at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
