Maynard Owen Starnes went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Maynard was born June 30, 1921, in Young County, Texas to Bailey and Vinia Starnes. Maynard, known by his friends and family as MO, had seven siblings, five brothers and two sisters. MO married Isabell O'Farrell, January 26, 1946. MO and Isabell had two sons Jesse Norman and Gary Starnes.
MO was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1942 - 1945. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1983 after 38 years. He loved his family and most of all his precious grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
MO was a handy man and enjoyed tinkering with projects big or small. He was a kind, gentle soul and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is walking the streets of heaven hand in hand with his beautiful bride Isabell.
MO was preceded in death by his parents Bailey and Vinia Starnes, his wife Isabell, two sisters and four brothers, and his son Gary Starnes. He is survived by his son Jesse Norman and wife Brenda of Odessa, TX, his daughter-in-law Dana Starnes of Odessa, TX, one brother Leon D. Starnes of Odessa, TX, four grandchildren Stefanie Curlee and husband Greg, Tommy Norman and wife Elizabeth, Celey Keene, Tara Brewer and husband Garry; nine great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors 2:00p.m. with brother Robert Bratcher, officiating. Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
