Melba Hayden was born on July 13,1928 in the city Schulenburg, Texas to Charles Blaschke and Emilie (Ludwig) Blaschke. Melba was a living example of Gods almighty powers. The trials and tribulations that she endures during her life her on earth was proof of Gods amazing grace and mercy. Prayers and faith led her to each journey. God had planned for her.
When she was 5 years of age, she had an accident that developed into a bone disease, which caused her to be separated from her parents and siblings at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. 145 miles away for 1 year. When she was 8 years old she developed kidney disease, which caused her to have 1 kidney removed, again separating her from her loved ones. Her faith and her prayer life became stronger! After losing the kidney, doctors told her it would be impossible to have children. Wanting a big family, and knowing that through Jesus, all thing s are possible, she went on to have 9 healthy children. She married her first husband, Leon Kaufmann in 195. She Worked at Bemis Bag until the birth of her first child. After the birth of her first child Theresa, God continued to bless her with eight more healthy children. In 1964 she divorced and was raising 9 children alone. On Thanksgiving Day her youngest son Michael was called home due to a car accident. Still having eight children to raise, she called on God for strength to carry on. In 1971 she married Bob Hayden and had 5 wonderful years of marriage, until god called him home in 1976. She continued care for his mom Devota Hayden until she was called home a few years later. Melba continued to be a great example of living in faith in God and his promises to her family and friends. Through it all she still knew joy and will live on forever in our hearts.
