Melissa Olivarri Almaguer was born January 9, 1986 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She weighed 6 pounds and 8 ounces to the proud parents of Oralia Buentello and Ernesto G. Olivarri. She was the youngest child of the eleven in the family. These include five sisters Eva Olivarri Flowers, Linda Olivarri, Jacqueline Dobias, Rebecca Olivarri King and Karen Olivarri Meeks and three brothers Ernesto Olivarri Jr., Reynaldo Olivarri and Adan Noel Olivarri.

Melissa graduated from Alice High School, where she was an esteemed athlete in basketball, track and cross country while also singing in the choir.

Melissa met Hessni Almaguer, the love of her life at a quincenera, and of course Melissa made the first move with a quick "Hi! Nice PRS guitar." The two of them began to build their life together and first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Melissa and Hessni with a baby carriage. They were blessed twice with Sadie & Ethan.

Music is the unbreakable bond Hessni & Melissa shared. What's better than having your wife join the band and this became: Ave's Wing with Lead singer, Melissa; Guitar, Hessni; Bass, Renee and Drums, Steven.

Melissa was loving, caring, and never judgmental. She gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She never held a grudge, and was always the peacemaker. Melissa was competitive, clumsy, and sometimes ditsy, which we have lovingly begun calling "Melissa moments".

Melissa was an awesome mother, always on the go with school activities, soccer, girl scouts, homework, and science projects. "Anything and Everything for the kids", was how she lived her life.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband Hessni, two children Sadie and Ethan; her mother Oralia Buentello; her sisters and brothers as well as nieces, nephews and many extended family. She is preceded in death by her father Ernesto G. Olivarri.
