BLOKING, Meridith Jean (Andrews) Meredith Jean (Andrews) Bloking, 58, of Vernon, passed peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, November 20, 2008, in Manchester, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, MI on April 24, 1950, Meredith was the daughter of Normand and the late Jean (Taylor) Andrews. She was a much adored mother to three children: Dennis Bloking Jr., pre-deceased, Jason Bloking (spouse, Kavita Shah, Mountain View, CA) and Christina Pitney (spouse, David Pitney, Vernon) and a beloved sister to Holly & Steve Brooks (South Burlington, VT) and Susan & Peter Clark (Tunbridge, VT). She is also survived by her children’s father, Dennis Bloking of Manchester as well as many nieces and nephews. Meredith was deeply devoted to her family and friends and opened her home and heart to those who knew her. Her lifelong friendships and courage amidst adversity are a testament to her strong will and character. Recently employed at Key Hyundai of Manchester, she was very conscientious and well-respected by all her co-workers. An alumnus of the University of Connecticut, she remained a lifelong Husky basketball fan. She always enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, relaxing by the beach and sipping a glass of wine; or a Saturday morning trip to the casino with partner Ron Latrico of Rockville. Meredith’s family will receive friends Monday, November 24, at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Rte. 83), Vernon, between the hours of 5 and 8 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Rockville Methodist Church, 142 Grove St., Rockville at 11 AM on Friday, November 28, 2008.
