Michael Alan LaJaunie was born to Russell and Bobbye (Welch) LaJaunie on February 18, 1953 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He passed away, unexpectedly, on July 6, 2017 at the age of 64 in Plano, Texas. He had lived in Plano, Texas since 1967. He attended and graduated from Plano High School in 1973.

Mike was one of the kindest people that you would ever hope to meet. He had a huge, generous heart and loved his family very much. He took good care of his Mom and Dad and saw to their daily needs. He also had a great sense of humor and loved a good practical joke. When he and his brothers were younger, they went with their mom and her dad (their Grandpa) to visit a local mall. At the mall the boys purchased a "whoopee cushion" and proceeded to take turns, along with Grandpa, sitting on the "whoopee cushion" as people walked by and laughed. Even years later, Mike would laugh until he cried at this memory.

Mike was a born again Christian who was a member of First Baptist Church of Plano. It is because of this that we are comforted with the knowledge that God was right beside him and took him to Heaven on Thursday when he closed his eyes for the final time. We will forever miss him but we know that we will see him again.

In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his sister, Denise Herrington and her husband Rodney of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his brothers: Steve and his wife, Tammy LaJaunie of Allen, Randy and his wife, Treva LaJaunie of Wylie. He also leaves to cherish his memory, ten nieces and nephews: Ryan Herrington, Jordan Herrington, Carson Herrington, and Linsday Cabbage, all of Albuquerque; Colin Herrington of San Diego, Aimee Brooks of Little Elm, Paige Montgomery of Farmersville, Tyler LaJaunie and Hayden LaJaunie of Wylie, and Whitney LaJaunie of College Station, Texas. Mike is also survived by his aunt, Nora Jones of Maude, Texas and his uncle, Jimmy Welch of Mt. Vernon, Texas; several great nieces and nephews and many loving cousins.
