Michael F Sloan, age 71 of Naples, Florida and Fall River, passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa (McDonald) Sloan of whom he had been married to for 53 years. A daughter, Debra Lima and her husband Kenneth Lima and three grandchildren. Kyle Lima and his wife Dawn, Tyler Lima and Kali Lima all of Fall River. A brother John V Sloan of Orange Park, Florida.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of John and Margaret (Gaudreau) Sloan. He grew up in Dighton, Massachusetts and graduated in 1963 from Coyle High School. From there he went on to graduate from Dean College where he met and married his college sweetheart. He continued his education at UMass Boston receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also received two Masters degrees in Education at Bridgewater State University and a third Masters from Providence College in Counseling.

A communicant of Holy Name Church, he was a member of the National Retired Educators Association of Rhode Island, the National Retired Educators Association and the Collier County Educators Association. He was a past President of the Evening Lions Club in Fall River, a member of the Moose Club and American Legion. He also served on the Durfee Reunion Committee in Naples, Florida.

Being a lifetime learner, he enjoyed traveling the world by air, land or sea with his wife and family. You could always find him reading a good book or playing a round of golf.

Services will be held at 7:00 P.M with calling hours prior from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
