Michael Kelly age 60, died unexpectedly on March 29.2021 in Attleboro MA. Mike was born and raised in Arlington, MA. He is a graduate of Minuteman High School in Lexington where he played football.
He spent many years as a sound technician, based in Nashville, and toured with country singers including Barbara Mandrell, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, among others. He managed to tour every state in the U.S. except Hawaii.
Wherever Mike traveled, he liked to wear his Red Sox cap, even in New York City. He enjoyed the camaraderie with sports fans, sharing banter, and a few beers. Returning to the Boston area, he held positions at Harvard University, Fidelity, Orig3n, The Broad Institute, and several others.
Mike loved helping people, as a result, he was enrolled in a clinical research study at BWH for the Covid-19 vaccine.
The cause of death is not yet determined.
Mike is predeceased by both parents, James J, and E. Margaret Kelly from Arlington MA. He leaves three loving sisters, Kathleen Surprenant of Arlington, Eileen Walsh of Lowell and her husband Lee, also Margaret Foss, and their families including 6 nieces, 3 nephews, and 4 grand-nephews. Mike also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially a long-time companion Alexa G. and many long-time friends. He will be deeply missed.
A private memorial will be held for family members.
