Michael Noah Zehr, 72, of San Antonio, Texas, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 4, 2018, in San Antonio. He was born on December 6, 1945 to Robert and Louise McCain Zehr.
He attended and graduated from Highlands High School in San Antonio, Texas. Michael married Sandra Reininger in San Antonio, Texas. The couple celebrated 31 years together in March 2017.
Michael was a happy man and always willing to help any and every one. He enjoyed numerous activities over the years, including tennis and basketball and watching action-packed movies, going to gun shows with his friends, and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids; he was a great athlete in high school; he was most proud of his 30+ year tenure with the City of San Antonio Aviation Department until his retirement in 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and Sandra's parents, Werner and Jeannette Reininger.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sandra; his siblings, Robert Daniel Zehr and wife Mary Virginia of North Carolina, Mary (Zehr) Reed of North Carolina, his children, Christopher Michael Zehr and wife Chrissy of San Antonio, TX and Michele Zehr Mora and husband David of Floresville, TX; Kirk Lynn Reininger and wife Kristi of Newcastle, OK; Brian Reininger and wife Charlene of Albuquerque, NM; as well as his five grandchildren, David Michael Mora Jr. and Luke Gabriel Mora of Floresville, TX, Jadynn Harlene Reininger and Kaid Raymond Werner Reininger of Newcastle, OK, and Lola Jeannette Reininger of Albuquerque, NM; nephews, Robert, Peter, Jeremy, and Johnathan and John; and great nephews and nieces.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, at 6 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway San Antonio, Texas 78218.
A Chapel Services will be held on Thursday, January 11th, at 3 p.m. at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with Interment following at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
