Michael Wayne Smith “Smitty” passed away at 62 years old Saturday May 27, 2017 in Grapevine, Texas of natural causes.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held Friday June 2nd, 2017 at 1:00pm at Compass Christian Church 2600 Hall-Johnson Road, Colleyville, TX 76034, with a reception to follow at Compass Christian Church.

He was born on February 21, 1955 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Arthur William Smith and Edna Louise Wooten. He Graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, OK and Studied at University of Memphis Employment: Mike was a hard worker and started working at a young age. First, at LaSill’s Ice cream shop and then after marriage at Fieldson’s Men’s Wear in Lawton, OK. In 1977 he moved his family to Fort Worth, TX and was the manager at Henry’s Clothing store for 16 years until 1993. After that, he became a Sales Associate at Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth, TX for 5 years. His last job was as a Sales Associate at Park Place Lexus of Grapevine, TX for almost 20 years. He made many friends through work and they truly were his work family.

Mike always had a passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed his years of Harley ownership but most recently fell in love with his new Italian Ducati. He took up golfing in his 40’s and it became another passionate hobby of his. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a family man, always putting his family first. Mike enjoyed picking an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree every year and participated in the Annual Texas Toy Run benefiting MHMR of Tarrant County. Predeceased by his father, Arthur William Smith, June 12, 1978, his mother Edna Louise Smith, April 26, 1993 and his sister Sherry Gwen Smith Pike May 4, 2002.

He is survived by his two children, daughter, Robyn Wilkinson and husband Jason Wilkinson and his son, Chasen Smith and wife Bria Smith: Brothers: Jim Smith of Lawton, OK, Bob Smith of Greenville, TX, David Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Terry Smith of Ardmore, Ok and his sister, Betty Swanson of Reliance, TN; the mother of his children Mary Smith of Lawton, OK; Grandchildren: Cole Wilkinson age 14, Grayson Wilkinson age 11, Savanna Smith age 5 and Harper Smith age 4.
