Mike Espinosa, 87 passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, TX.

Family visitation will be 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, TX.

Funeral services will be 10am, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel in Denison, TX.

Mike was born Thursday, May 9, 1929 in Denison, TX to Joe & Fransisca (Garza) Espinosa. He played football for the Denison Yellow Jackets throughout his high school years, he also was a softball pitcher with one of the fastest pitches in his league, others feared his pitches because they were so hard and fast. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served one tour overseas and received a good conduct medal, when returning home married Anita Dorff on October 8, 1956 and started his family. Mike worked for Safeway, Inc. for more than 35 years. He loved the outdoors, camping and did a little painting on the side. Mike was the best father and husband and loved his children dearly. When his grandchildren came along, he hit his ultimate high; he loved to be with his grandbabies and pester them, being the jokester that he was. Mike was faithful and read his bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Mary Ellen Payan; daughter Sandra Joe Espinosa; daughter-in-law Shawna Espinosa; brother Joe Espinosa and sisters Julia Rogers and Margaret Escalera.

Mike is survived by his wife Anita Espinosa of Sherman, TX; daughter Cindy Russell of Princeton, TX; son Michael Espinosa of Denison, TX; daughter Sandy Bray & husband Ron of Sherman, TX; daughter Barbara Abel of Sherman, TX; sister Mary Lou Owens of Dallas, TX; sister Frances Collazo & husband Pete of Sierra Vista, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
