Mildred Westmoreland Grisham, age 89, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Pontotoc Extended Care Nursing Home. She was born January 9, 1929 to Beulah Littlejohn Higgins and Charlie Higgins. She was a member of Maple Street Presbyterian Church. She was an LPN and for 15 years operated Sunshine Rest Home. Mildred played an instrumental role in the creation of American Family Radio in Tupelo, MS. She enjoyed going on mission trips, gardening, antiquing and was a museum curator.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Pontotoc Memorial Gardens in Pontotoc with Minister David Smith officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Mable Crawford and husband Rodney of Pontotoc, MS; a son, Mike Westmoreland and wife Vickie of Pontotoc, MS; a daughter-in-law, Sherron Westmoreland of Pontotoc, MS; one step-daughter, Patti Dunavent; three step-sons, Jack Grisham, Staten Grisham and Max Grisham; two sisters, Sadie Bass of Tupelo, MS and Charlene Hill of Tupelo, MS; one brother, J.C. Higgins of Pontotoc, MS; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Higgins; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She was also preceded by her husband, the father of her children, Charlie Westmoreland, then later by her husband, Jim Grisham; one son, James Westmoreland; three sisters, Elizabeth Stegall, Hazel Wilson and Blanche Baker; and three brothers, Cecil Higgins, Howard Higgins and Jimmy Higgins.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Coleman, Hunter Coleman, Barry Crawford, Brett Crawford, Chet Crawford, Max Crawford, Jack Sansing, Chris Westmoreland, Cole Westmoreland, Heath Westmoreland, Jake Westmoreland and Walker Westmoreland.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
