Milford Niemeyer, 89, passed away Sunday, April 16 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary service at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Milford was born November 6, 1927 in Washington County, Texas the son of Henry and Emma (Debe) Niemeyer. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had received the bronze star; he was a member of the American Legion Earl Graham Post 159. After returning from the service, Milford was a Baker for Allen Academy for 20 years and then worked for and retired from Duncan Dinning Hall at Texas A&M University.

Family was very important to Milford; he cherished his time with family especially on Saturday nights when the family got together to play poker. He taught his grandchildren at a young age how to play poker. Milford enjoyed playing cards, going on casino trips and cooking. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Golden Years, Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Milford is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Niemeyer; sister, Leona Grebe.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucille Niemeyer; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Connie Niemeyer, Michael and Frances Niemeyer; grandchildren, Neill Niemeyer and wife Lindsey, Kathy Savell, Karl Niemeyer, Jennifer Lemons and husband Bick; great-grandchildren, Randy Savell, Carley Savell, Benjamin Lemons, Mason Seymour and Paityn Seymour; nephew, Larry Grebe and wife Valisia.
