Monte Lee Weber, 85, of Rockford passed away Tuesday September 19, 2017. Monte was born on July 25, 1932 in Chicago, the son of Leonard and Grace (Volkers) Weber. He married Janice Erickson on June 5, 1953 and she preceded him in death on March 15, 1975; he then married Nancy( Reinhold) Aadnoy on March 22, 1980 and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2017. Monte was an auto mechanic from the time he was a teenager until he retired in his 70's. He was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Monte loved his pet chipmunk "Charlie", that would come up and eat peanuts from his hand, he was an avid bird watcher and loved building model planes. "Dad" was always there to help everyone he could, he was a "jack of all trades" and was always lending a helping hand. He will be missed and loved by all.
Monte is survived by his son Steven (Sue) Weber; daughter Dawn (Tim) Babcock; step-children Glenn Aadnoy, Linda Aadnoy and Pamela Osthassel; four grandchildren Amy (Edward) Lamb, Nicole (Reggie) Hood, Michael (Erin) Weber and Andrew (Molly Vongphichith) Babcock; seven great-grandchildren Isaiah, Jamari, Josslyn, Sofie, Savannah, Maddie and Kaia; brother John "Jack" Weber; six step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren all of Norway; numerous nieces and nephews.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother and two sisters.
A service to celebrate Monte's life will be 11:00 am Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
