Muriel Rope, 76, of Cruikshank Road, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born January 30, 1941 in Queens, NY, to Richard and Madeline Atkinson Broadhurst. A former resident of Rosedale, Queens she had been an area resident for the past 25 years.

She will always be remembered for her love of reading, her ability to make friends wherever she went, her kind nature, her quiet strength and, most importantly, her unconditional and never ending love for her beloved husband, cherished children and treasured granddaughters.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years Hank, her daughter Lori and her husband Edward McLaughlin of Yorktown Hgts., her granddaughters Danielle and Grace, her son Charles of CA, her brother Richard of FL and two nephews Richard and Michael.

Her funeral procession will form on Tuesday at 10:30am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home thence to the St. Francis de Sales Church where at 11am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raphael Iannone. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 7 to 9pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
