Heise, Nadine Shirley died in Annapolis, Maryland on Thursday, October 19, 2017 after a brief illness. Mrs. Heise was predeceased by her husband, the Honorable Robert S. Heise, their son Robert (Bobby) Heise, II, Richard and Eloise Heise, Samuel and Emily Siber, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Heise of Eastport, her daughter and son-in-law Shari & Anthony Forcina of Aberdeen, her granddaughter Erica Forcina of Wilmington, Delaware, her sister-in law Toni Siber of Ohio, her brother and sister-in-law John and Sarah(nee Heise) Stava of Indiana, and sister-in-law Gloria Heise of California, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Heise was raised in Canton, Ohio by her parents, Samuel and Emily Siber, and was the third youngest of eleven children. Through her father, Mrs. Heise was a direct descendant of a founding member of the Zoar Society of Zoar, Ohio, a utopian community founded in the early 19th century by religious separatists from Württemberg, Germany. Her mother's parents were immigrants from Berne, Switzerland. In 1958, upon marrying her sweetheart, Robert Heise, Mrs. Heise became an Annapolitan, raising her family in Eastport. Mrs. Heise loved her family, and she was an amazing chef, baker, crocheter, gardener, and lover of all types of music from Beethoven and Verdi, to Mitch Miller and Broadway musicals. She played the piano and enjoyed duckpin bowling, theater, the symphony, art exhibits, and was also a voracious reader. Mrs. Heise was also an artist who enjoyed painting still life, and she was adept at the sewing machine, creating aprons as gifts for her nieces, neighbors, and many lucky little girls. Mrs. Heise and Mr. Heise were partners in life, love, and travel, and became road-trip experts, frequently crossing the Allegheny Mountains to visit her family in Ohio, in addition to many trips up and down I-95 to various historic sites and beaches. In 1971, they packed up their trusty Buick station wagon and traveled from Annapolis to Los Angeles (and back)- with stops at Disney Land, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, etc¿ - all with their three children and niece Terry in tow (whom they picked up in Ohio on the way westward). In their later years, Mrs. Heise and her husband explored the world together visiting Hawaii, British Columbia, Russia, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and most of the other Western European countries. More recently, Mrs. Heise enjoyed living at Brightview on the South River where she was a ray of sunshine to fellow residents and staff. A viewing and memorial service in Mrs. Heise's honor are planned for 10:00 am, Friday, October 27, 2017 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD 21401. Burial will be private for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Heise's name may be made to Langton Green, Inc., 3016 Arundel on the Bay Road, Annapolis, MD 21403.
