Nelouise Ragan

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, at home in Kingwood, Texas, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Nelouise "Nell" Taylor Ragan passed on to be with her Lord and Savior. Nell was born in Butler County, Alabama on April 4, 1932 to Linnie Wheeler Taylor and Claude Taylor. She was one of three sisters and thirteen half brothers and sisters. Nell spent her formative years in Greenville, Alabama where she graduated high school, then married and had two children, Rodrick "Rod" Earl Hall and Melinda Ann "Susie" Hall. She moved to Humble, Texas and after a few years as a divorced, single mother, she met and married the love of her life, retired Air Force officer, Elijah David Ragan in January of 1965. Nell and Elijah spent their time together raising the two children and travelling when their schedules allowed.

Nell worked as a court clerk for the honorable Judge Albert L. Lee in Humble, Texas. She also served as the campaign manager for two Harris County judges. Nell was named Woman of the Year of the Jetero Chapter of the American Business Women's Association in 1982. She was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary at VFW Post 4816 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In the midst of being a mom, wife, court clerk, and serving in her organizations, Nell also served as a volunteer for the Democratic Party during state and local elections. Nell touched the lives of so many and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Nell is preceded in death by her daughter, parents, and husband. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rod Hall and wife Denise; her grandson, David Hall and wife Lynnette; and her great grandchildren, Elena and Noah Hall.
