Mrs. Neva Beck Elberson Albright, 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
A resident of this area most of her life, Mrs. Albright was born on December 15, 1918 in Johnston County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Beck. For many years, she had worked as a sock pairer in the hosiery industry, having worked for Wrenn, Silver Knit, and Dogwood Hosiery. She was also a graduate of Fair Grove High School.
She was the oldest living member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, where she had been a member since age 5. Mrs. Albright was a former Sunday School teacher of the Ever Ready class and a former director of Best Years Fellowship. She was known for telling funny stories and jokes and was always on the go. She especially enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with her cats and dog, her flowers, cooking, and baking. Most of all, she put God and her family first.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Cletus Elberson and Cletus Albright.
Surviving are son, Bill Elberson and wife Helen of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Jeff Elberson and wife Della, Jill Elberson, and Chad Elberson and wife Mary; and five great grandchildren, Jesse, Alecia, Devin, Sam, and Hannah.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dr. E. Keith Carroll and Rev. Chad Elberson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Thomasville Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Bill.
