NICHOLAS LYNCH, age 31, passed away in his sleep on November 18, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas at his home with his parents.

On August 2, 1987 Nicholas surprised his dad and mom, Senior Officer Chris and Melissa Lynch, when he came into the world long before his due date as a very premature baby. He may have been small, but the first thing we learned about him was that he was a fighter, determined to overcome the obstacles he faced. Nicholas did more than survive. He inspired everyone with the impact he had on those around him.

During his life, Nicholas was an instrumental participant in the Surfactant Study which resulted in today’s life-saving treatments that combat respiratory failure, which is a major cause of mortality in preterm infants. By far his greatest accomplishment was the way he touched everyone who knew him. No doubt he taught us to value each day and the things in life that matter most.

Nick could often be seen with his parents at various meetings where his mischievous grin and bright eyes would put a smile on everyone’s face. He saw the world in terms of loving family and friends, conquering fear, and caring about those in law enforcement like his father. Nick loved to watch the New York Rangers Hockey Team, especially when the action heated up and they would score or when there was a fight on the ice.

His dream was to someday become a cop. He loved being around police officers. On September 29, 2017, Nicholas was pinned as an honorary Police Officer for The Day.

Nicholas made the world a better place and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Marie, and his grandparents, Diane and Kenneth. He is survived by his parents Senior Officer Chris and Melissa Lynch, his sister Laura, aunts, uncles, a cousin, his other grandparents, and the Blue Family of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Corpus Christ Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (P.O. Box 60861, Corpus Christi, Texas 78466) in memory of Nicholas.
