Nonie Rosa Schoen Wheeler "Maw Maw", 83, a lifelong resident of Beaumont passed away on Sunday April 30, 2017. Nonie was born on February 24, 1934 in Beaumont, Texas to her parents Leo Schoen and Allie Hazel McBride Schoen who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Lloyd McLeod, brother, Charles Schoen, sisters, Virgie West, Hazel Franklin, and second husband Edwin H. Wheeler, Jr. Nonie worked for twenty-eight years as an Office Manager with Drs. Toups and Brown. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, traveling, water and snow skiing, cooking, and was a devoted member of the Sweet Adelines Choral Group. She was very proud of the being the consummate "Maw Maw"for all of her grandbabies. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont.
She is survived by two sons; Charles McLeod and wife Cris, Gary Wheeler and wife Susan, daughter; Celeste Wheeler Mausolf and husband Chris, eight grandchildren, Jessica Parmenter and husband Del, Jenna McGallion and husband Lance, Haleigh Bower and husband Clayton, Jake Wheeler, Morgan Wheeler, Mason Wheeler, Shane Mausolf, Drew Mausolf, and three great grandchildren, Ace Parmenter, Allie Parmenter, Leo McGallion, and one great grandson on the way, Blake Hudson Bower.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 4, 2017 from 6:00p.m- 8:00p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Friday May 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or their website ALZ.org in honor of Nonie Rosa Schoen Wheeler.
