Vinton- Odalie "Dolly" Frederick, 82, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She was a native of New Iberia and had been a resident of Vinton for over 50 years. Dolly was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church serving as an Eucharist Minister, visiting and assisting parishioners who were sick and shut-in, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her life was devoted to her family and serving Christ. She enjoyed camping at Toledo Bend, reading, and mostly being with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa (Craig) Fontenot, Thomas (Wendy), Ricky(Tina), Julie (Jerry) Berry, and Gerald, all of Vinton, Sheila (Darty) Douga, and Damien (Marsha), all of Sulphur, Jimmy of Lake Charles, Mary of Houston, TX, Phyllis (Dan) Steelman of Jefferson City, MO, Denis (Tammy) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Paul (Loretta) of Orange, TX and John (Marcia) of Bradenton, FL; daughter-in-law, Sherry (wife of Roger); twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Reaux; parents, Alcide and Lydia Derouen; two sons, Robert and Roger; and daughter-in-law, Cherie (wife of Gerald).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton. The Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. and from 8 - 9:45 am Monday in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
