Ola G. Floyd, 99, of Bloomfield, beloved wife of the late Thomas Floyd, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Born in Quincy, FL to the late Albert and Jane (Betsey) Gilbert, she has been a Bloomfield resident for over 35 years and was a lifelong member of the Latter Rain Christian Fellowship Church in Hartford. Ola was very active in her church serving as a choir member and Sunday school teacher, and in her spare time she enjoyed bowling. Ola is survived by her sister-in-law Mrs. L. Green, a host of cousins and close friends, Edith Holloman of Windsor, George Timmon of Hartford, Hilma Foster of Bloomfield and Loretta Douglas of Virginia. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Eugene Y. Green. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, February 16 at the Latter Rain Christian Fellowship Church, 3200 Main St. Hartford. Viewing will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be held at 1 PM Friday, February 17 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the Latter Rain Christian Fellowship Church, 3200 Main St. Hartford, CT 06120.
