Bertie Olene Calhoun Maynard-Reaves was born May 30, 1933 in Marquez, Leon County Texas to Jack and Hazel (Yarbrough) Calhoun. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husbands, Roger Leroy Maynard and Jimmie Lee Reaves; Son, Roger Lynn Maynard, Granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Maynard; Brothers, Jack Calhoun, James Calhoun and David Calhoun; Sisters, Mary Stevens, Katie Calhoun and Kathy Crain and former Son-In-Law, Bret Turner. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Baker and husband Les and Diana Turner; Brother Donald Calhoun and wife Sue; Brother-in-Law, Bill Maynard; Sisters-In-Law, Nancy Calhoun-Spikes, Shelia Calhoun and Lois Calhoun; Grandchildren Kesha Perry and husband Mike, Patrick Rusk and Travis Maynard; Great-Grandchildren Morgan Miller, Hayden Maynard, Katherine, Isabelle, Matthew and Gabriel Perry and Ayden Rusk; Step-Children Tony and wife Elizabet Reaves , Dayna Knappick and husband, T.G.; Step-Grandchildren, Justin Knappick and Cristian Reaves; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Olene was a faithful and active member of the church of Christ, attending Bammel church of Christ at the time of her death. She had served on the Board as President of Women for Eastern European Missions. She credited God and her family for the many opportunities presented to her that propelled her to success in every endeavor that she pursued. She was Vice President of Pinemont Bank in Houston (now Amegy) and later developed a successful Leisure program for their Senior Depositors that allowed her to travel the US and the World. Olene served on the Board and as President of the Shepherd, TX Chamber of Commerce; as Alderman on Shepherd, TX City Council and as Director of the Shepherd Economic Development Corp and was involved in other civic affairs in her local community. Olene took great joy in helping others and she will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in the chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, in Forest Park's chapel. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to greet the family during a reception in Forest Park's event room. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Cox Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas.
