Olga H. (Sachonchik) Soja, 97, of Melbourne, FL and formerly of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Julius Soja, passed away, Friday, October 27, 2017. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Drapianuk) Sachonchik, she lived in Windsor most all her life where she was a communicant of St. Gertrude's Church. Olga lived a full and active life which included extensive gardening where her green thumb flourished, square dancing, multiple trips with her husband to naval reunions and bowling on a weekly bowling league until she was 95! She also enjoyed the activities sponsored by the Windsor Senior Center and Golden Fellowship. She leaves her son Ronald J. Soja and his wife Sandra of West Melbourne, FL; four grandchildren Christi Selby, Tim Soja, Jeremy Soja, and Bethany Cohen; and four great grandchildren Wes Selby, Abigail, Shiloh, and Shirel Cohen. Besides her husband Julius, she was predeceased by her daughter Paulette Kunigisky; brothers John and Alex Sachonchik; and a sister Mary Mocarsky. Her family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 3-5 pm at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Family and friends may gather Friday, November 3, 2017 at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Gertrude's Church, 550 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to either St. Gertrude’s Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
