OLIVINE REHULITA ADAMS WAS BORN ON DECEMBER 7, 1942, THE FIRST CHILD OF WILLAM AND
ARNESTA HARRIGAN ON THE ISLAND OF SAINT THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLAND. THE HARRIGANS HAD
TWO OTHER CHILDREN, WARREN ( DECEA SED) AND ALMA ( DECEASED ).
AT THE AGE OF 8 YEARS OLD, OLIVINE AND HER BROTHER WARREN WERE BROUGHT TO NEW YORK TO
JOIN THEIR MOTHER AND STEPFATHER FLENZY ROBINSON. ARNESTA AND FLENZY'S UNION PRODUCED
HER BROTHERS AND SISTERS, FLENZY "PARIS" JR. ( DECEASED ), DENNIS, RAYMOND ( DECEASED ),
ELIZABETH, AND SANDRA ( DECEASED ). OLIVINE WAS NOT JUST THEIR BIG SISTER, SHE WAS THEIR
SECOND MOTHER.

OLIVINE GREW UP IN ST. ALBANS, QUEENS AND ATTENDED ANDREW JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL,
GRADUATING IN 1961. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, SHE ATTENDED YORK COLLEGE AND BEGAN TO WORK FOR
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY. THERE, THROUGH THE HELP OF HER FRIEND ELAINE
ALLARD, SHE MET HER FUTURE HUSBAND, THOMAS H ADAMS. THEY WERE MARRIED ON AUGUST 29,
1964. THIS UNION PRODUCED A SON, ROY. IN 1987, SHE WELCOMED HER NIECES, ASHLEY AND
LAUREN ROBINSON INTO HER HOME AND RAISED THEM AS HER DAUGHTERS. SHE LOVED ALL OF HER
CHILDREN DEARLY.

OLIVINE CONTINUED TO WORK FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY WHERE SHE RECEIVED MANY
COMMENDATIONS FOR HER OUTSTANDING WORK UNTIL HER RETIREMENT IN DECEMBER 2000. SHE
CONTINUED TO WORK PART TIME WITH THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND WAS ACTIVE WITH HER CLUB,
THE RECYCLED TEENAGERS. SHE SERVED AS SECRETARY OF THE GROUP AND OVERALL FUN
COORDINATOR.

OLLIE LEFT US ON MAY 17, 2017. SHE DIED PEACEFULLY SURROUNDED BY HER FAMILY THAT SHE
LOVED SO MUCH. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER CHILDREN ROY, ASHLEY, AND LAUREN; HER BROTHER AND
SISTER DENNIS AND ELIZABETH; HER SON-IN-LAW JOHN TRANI; BROTHER-IN-LAW ROLF AND
SISTER-IN-LAWS BARBARA , JANICE "ANGEL"; AND MANY COUSINS, NIECES, NEPHEWS AND FRIENDS.
SHE WAS GREATLY LOVED AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO LOVED HER.
