Pablo Martinez, Jr., passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the age of 53. He was born on January 5, 1961, in Sinton, Texas, to Eva and Pablo Martinez, Sr. After graduating from Taft High School in 1979 and Bee County College, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from January 1984, until January 1988. Pablo spent the last twenty-two years as an employee of Island/Apache/ Fieldwood, eventually being promoted to Lead Operator. He was active with the Taft VFW Post 9318 and was Commander of his post for the last six years. He also worked with the local Boys and Girls Club and the Boy Scouts in Taft, Gregory and Portland.



Pablo is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jesus Martinez; and sister, San Juana Cordao.



He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Amalia Aleman Martinez; children, Jesus Garza, Jr. (Angela J Sanchez) of Gregory; Jessica Ann Aleman Medina (Ernesto Fred Medina, Sr.), Joslin Amber Marie Martinez; and Joanna Lynn Riverra (Christian Leiva) all of Taft; six grandchildren: Jonathan Micheal Garza, Jenevieve Gertude Garza both of Gregory; Ernesto Fred Medina, Jr., Ethen Felipe, Jesenia Adela Aleman Medina and Kristabellah Lynn Leiva all of Taft; seven sisters: Barbara (Eustacio) Padron of Lubbock, Rosa (David) Pena, Norma Gonzales (Cruz Flores), Anna Martinez, Juanita (Bubba) West, Mary Rendon (Juan) Vera all of Taft and Rosario Martinez of Bayside.; four brothers, Gullermo (Luisa) Martinez of Taft, Ruben (Heather) Martinez of Wolfforth, Leonard (JoAnn) Martinez of Corpus Christi and Damian Martinez of Woodsboro; numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.



Visitation will be Sunday, December 7, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 8, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Interment will follow at 12:00 noon at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi with full military honors.
