Patricia Ann Marotta, 84, passed away on June 30, 2017, surrounded by her children.

In Patricia's daily life she modeled how easy it was to be kind, showed us the importance of forgiveness, and the necessity of loving one another. Her childhood was spent in Austin, Texas, where she eventually met the love of her life, Frank, and later made Dallas their home. Patricia was devoted in her Catholic faith as a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she and her beloved Frank led by example and raised their six children in the church and adjoining school. Patricia fervently served as a member of the Ladies Society of St. Pius for several decades where she assisted her church and community. She worked for Gold Coin Vending at Bishop Lynch High School from 1978 to 2008, where she offered smiles and quick wit to the thousands of students who came through the lunch line.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her son Martin. She is survived by her beloved daughters Lorraine Marotta, Julie Einstein and spouse Fred, Rose Blessing and spouse Thomas; beloved sons Louis Marotta and spouse Dale Switzer, Mark Marotta and spouse Karen; her treasured grandchildren Kristina Trujillo and spouse Kris, Daniel Einstein, Charlie Einstein, Kyle Blessing, Ryan Switzer and Heather Miller; her brother Mickey Walker and wife Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia led by her actions, not by her words. She was incapable of being unkind to anyone. She will be remembered for her strong love of family, her patient and resilient character, her warm and gentle smile, and her unconditional compassion for others. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, with a Rosary beginning at 9:30am. Celebrated by Fr. Guzman. Interment following at Calvary Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
