Patricia Pynes, 77 years old, recently passed away at her home in Buda, Texas. Patricia grew up in rural DeKalb, Texas, the eldest daughter of Pauline Murphy Pynes and Marvin Pynes. She attended East Texas University in Commerce, Texas, where she met and married Quentin Christian.

She served as a volunteer nurse at a shelter in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

In 2005, Patricia moved back to Texas to be closer to family. She continued working for several years, primarily in geriatric psychiatric nursing. She battled a heart condition, atrial fibrillation, in the last years of her life.
