Patricia Ruth Kimball passed away peacefully on June 6, at Hearthstone of Beaverton, at the age of 91. She was born May 8, 1926, in El Centro, CA to parents Bert Clifton and Jessie Marion (Gibson) Clark. Pat lived in Glendale, CA until age 10, where she fondly remembered learning about diverse cultures and religions. She moved to Amity, OR in 1936, where her parents bought a small farm, and later to SE Portland where they ran a grocery store. Pat attended Amity and Russellville Grade Schools before graduating from Gresham High School in 1944 and attending junior college in CA. She eventually relocated to Depoe Bay, OR and, in 1948, married WWII veteran, Raymond Platts; together they operated the Coast Marine Supply store. Pat was a member of Taft Eastern Star Lodge with Ray and played the washboard in its Beachcomber Band. In 1953, she gave birth to her daughter Marietta Lee Platts.

Pat lived much of her life in Beaverton, OR. She was a supervisor for Pacific Northwest Bell, played on its softball team, and learned to sew. After Ray died in 1960, she raised Marietta as a single-mom, saving funds to send her to college. In 1973, she re-married Korean War veteran, Charles (Charlie) Earl Kimball. She retired in 1979, followed by Charlie in 1989, allowing them to volunteer, golf, garden, and travel, including to Copper Canyon, Hawaii, Banff and Glacier National Parks, and London. They were married 33 years when Charlie died in 2006. She lived at Beaverton Lodge and later Hearthstone, where she continued her storytelling, crocheting, and making friends of all ages.

Pat will be most remembered for her dedication to helping others, always believing "if everyone did one nice thing for someone else, what a wonderful world it would be." She was a long-time supporter of numerous charities, including Beaverton Loaves & Fishes, serving on its steering committee, a proud member of Bethel UCC, volunteering with its Food Cupboard, Women's Fellowship, and music programs, and a lifetime member of Daughters of the Nile.

Pat is survived by her daughter and stepson, Marietta and Phil Simpson of Beaverton, granddaughter Wendy Seymore of Beaverton, granddaughter Emily Seymore and her fiancé Benjamin Shook, of Chicago, as well as her many church, Hearthstone, and Beaverton community friends.

All are welcome at her Celebration of Life, to be held on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel UCC, 5150 SW Watson Ave, Beaverton, OR 97005, (503) 646-1191, light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Bethel UCC's Food Cupboard or Beaverton Loaves & Fishes.

Pat will privately laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens of Portland, Oregon.
