Paul Henry "Red" Weaver, age 87, died on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born January 15, 1927 in Meridian, MS and was a resident of River Ridge for the past 56 years. He worked for 40 years as a structural iron worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Local 58 for over 60 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 ''' 1946 and was stationed at the submarine base in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii). Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Rose "Helen" Stephens Weaver. Loving father of Paul Weaver, Jr. (Patty), Ginger Moskau (Michael), Ann Phelps (Asia Baker) and Becky Coker (Kent). Grandfather of Christy Moskau Hudson (Jason), Andrew Moskau, Emily Moskau and Colin Coker. Son of the late Bessie Manning Weaver and Earl Weaver. Brother of Mary Hall, Jessie Daniels, Margie Upton, Jack Weaver and the late Glen, Billy and Bobby Weaver. Paul will be remembered for his love of fishing and gardening and especially for his love and devotion to his wife.
Relatives, friends and members of Riverside Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Harahan, Rio Vista Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Kenner, the Vineyard Church of New Orleans and St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM. A Funeral Service will also take place at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 3100 Audubon Drive, Laurel, MS 39440, (601)428-5235 on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lake Park Hills Cemetery, 2806 Emmy Drive, Laurel, MS 39440.
