Paul Keith Wimber, aged 66, died on Friday, December 14, 2018, in Gig Harbor, Washington. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 19, 1952, and through Holy Family Adoption Society, became the son of Ray and Frances Wimber, and a few years later, the older brother to Eileen.
Paul was raised in Ventura, California, and attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School through eighth grade, and then went on to Buena High School, graduating in 1970. His college education began at Ventura College, then he spent one year at Oklahoma State, and then graduated from UC Berkeley, in 1975, with a degree in Economics.
Paul played tennis from grade school through college, and then had a stint playing doubles in Europe. He taught tennis during the summers, and became a teaching pro after college, where he especially enjoyed working with the Juniors' programs.
Paul married Diana on June 2, 1979, in Sacramento, California. That same summer Paul began a long career, spanning 37 years, in the paper and packaging industry, specializing in corrugated packaging.
Paul loved his family well, as the husband to Diana for almost 40 years, father to Ryan, Eric, and Jeff, and grandpa to Ella, Lincoln, Riley, and Asher. Additionally, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and home projects. He and Diana did some traveling, and were especially fond of Carmel, CA, Whistler, BC, and Palm Desert, CA.
Paul found out in November of 2018, that his esophageal cancer, first diagnosed in October of 2007, had returned. This eleven year journey was more about trusting Jesus, than anything or anyone else. He knew his Lord and Savior, and was ready to meet Him on December 14, 2018. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
