Paul Salinas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 9, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in Maxwell, Texas but moved to Galveston, Texas at an early age and graduated from Kerwin High School. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Marines before starting work in Houston, Texas. He retired in 1993 from ABF Freight, where he was a proud member of Teamster Local 988. Paul was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved fishing, going to Astros games, spending time with family and the love of his life, Mary, his wife. He is survived by his dogs Tootsie & Elvis, daughters, Gloria Salinas (Britt Walters), Tina Chargois (John Chargois), Susan Salinas (Brad Campbell), Carol Sanchez (Leonard Price), Lydia Salinas and Paula Salinas; his 10 grandchildren; and his sisters Rachel Salinas and Romana Garcia. Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, whom he was blessed to share his love for 65 years; his son, Ernest C. Salinas, grandson, Aaron Lee Sanchez and sister Rebecca S. Cornell. A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, with a rosary at 6:00 pm on Thursday December 14, 2017 at Crespo Funeral Home, 4136 Broadway St. in Houston, Texas. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Crespo Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
