Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God - 1 John 4:7 - Pearlie Pauline Sims Sherrill, age 93, a devoted Christian woman, is now in her Heavenly home with her Heavenly Father, family and friends. She passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Stanley Total Living Center. Pearlie was dedicated in reading her Bible daily and listening to books on CD's. Growing up as a lady of the greatest generation, Pearlie loved working in her yard and cooking.

Those left behind to carry on Pearlie's memories and legacy is her two sons and daughters in law: Tony and Sheila Sherrill of Gastonia, North Carolina, Harold and Rita Sherrill of Mt. Holly, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Matthew Sherrill and wife Jenny, Monica Rhyne, Melanie Walsh and husband Richard; five great grandchildren: Lilly McCord, River Sherrill, Emma Rhyne, Clara Walsh and Victoria Walsh.

Born in Dallas, North Carolina, Pearlie was the daughter of the late William Sylvester Sims, Sr and Sarah Francis Lingerfelt Sims. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harold Davis Sherrill; five brothers: John Sims, Jay Sims, Clarence Sims, Floyd Sims and William Sylvester "Doug" Sims, Jr.

The family will honor Pearlie's life with a Celebration at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 South Main Street, Stanley, North Carolina 28164 with Reverend Dennis Harper to deliver words of comfort to Pearlie's family and friends.

Graveside and committal will follow in the Chimes Garden at Hillcrest Gardens, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120.

The family will receive guests from 1:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM prior to the service.
