Perry Eugene Tesner, age 56, of Pompeii, MI died Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, St. Johns, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel on Wednesday, January 11th at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Troy Braman will officiate. Burial will take place at Avery Twp. Cemetery in Atlanta, Michigan at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes. Perry was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 21, 1955, the son of William Robert Tesner and Irene (Brumlow) Tesner. He was a graduate of West Iron County High School class of 1975. After being together 22 years, Perry married Catherine Lee (Smyth)Tesner in 2001. He worked as a Car Hauler, most recently for Jack Cooper Transportation until his retirement in 2010. Perry enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of NRA, and Teamsters Local #580. He is survived by his wife Cathy Tesner of Pompeii, MI; son William Smyth of Pompeii, MI; brother Dennis and Trish Tesner of Croswell, MI; sister Sue and Rick Gault of Chandler, AZ; brother David and Chris Tesner of Capac, MI; sister Linda and Greg Pomeroy of Forest Lake, MN; sister Mary Barthelemy of Elk River, MN; and sister Judi and Dave Siegienski of Coconut Creek, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Robert Tesner. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
