The skilled hands of a talented craftsman came to rest for Philip C. Paquette, 76, of Jaffrey, NH, on September 13, 2017 at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Keene, NH, following a period of failing health.

He was born in Laconia, NH on May 31, 1941, the son of Philip G. Paquette of Chicopee, MA and Cecile (LaBrecque) Paquette of Laconia, NH.

He resided in Laconia until the age of six when his family moved to Keene, NH. Philip attended St. Joseph Regional School in Keene until completing the fifth grade. His family then relocated to Marlborough, NH, purchasing the family home on Main Street, with Philip then entering the sixth grade at the Marlborough Elementary School. He was a 1960 graduate of Marlborough High School.

Following graduating, Philip joined the Army National Guard in Keene. He reported to Fort Dix in New Jersey for eight weeks of basic training and later, he completed artillery training at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Upon completing his basic training requirements, Philip returned home to begin his work career. However, with the onset of the Cuban Missile Crisis, Philip was reactivated to North Carolina, serving for a year.

Philip then went to work for Computer Control in Peterborough, NH where he worked until the company was bought out by Honeywell and later, when the company moved to Massachusetts, Philip took a new job with the New England Telephone Company (Verizon), working as a technician for 32 years, retiring in 1994.

His skilled and creative hands found him enjoying gardening, snowmobiling and working on old cars. He also took great pleasure in woodworking and building clocks for family and friends.

Philip will be greatly missed by many in the community, especially his wife of 53 years, Sandra L. (Parent) Paquette of Jaffrey; a son, Andrew Paquette and his wife, Kimberly, of Marlborough; his daughters, Paula Belletete and her husband, Ernest, of Jaffrey, and Michele Kennedy and her husband, Matthew, of Wilton, NH; six grandchildren, Shannon Paquette, Logan Paquette, Matthew Belletete and his wife, Monique, Katherine Belletete, Rachel Belletete, and Nicholas Kennedy; his sisters, Helen Wilson of Marlborough, Anne Kimball of Newmarket, NH, Mary Craig of Greenfield, NH; a brother, Robert Paquette of Peterborough, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. There are no public calling hours.
