Precious Pearl Jones Moore was born in rural Caswell County on June 15, 1931 to John Graham and Vera Mae Jones. She left her earthly body on January 2, 2018. Pearl lived most of her 86 years in North Carolina, with some of her early years in Delaware, Philadelphia and later several years in St. Pete, Florida. Pearl was the epitome of an extrovert. She did not know a stranger. She not only would talk to everyone, she would get to know all about them. She would know many of the employees in the grocery stores and places she shopped, calling employees by their names and asking about their families. She worked many years in sales, and made salesperson of the month repeatedly. Pearl was the reservationist at the Hilton Inn when it was on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh from about 1970 to 1981. She delighted in meeting people and celebrities from all walks of life while employed there. Later she worked at Wake Medical Center in Medical Records before moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1985 and working in sales again for PacTel paging company. She retired in 1991 at the age of 60 and settled back into life in Raleigh. Her favorite place remained Florida. She loved the weather and the beach.

Pearl was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease around the age of 75. This debilitating disease took the joy of life from her as it progressed. Pearl loved to travel and be on the go. As the disease progressed, she had to be confined to a wheelchair and became dependent on others' for care. She spent her last years unable to walk or move much. People said she had the most beautiful smile and she did. If she wasn't smiling, something was wrong. She loved her children, grandchildren and her family. She was always dedicated to her family. We will miss her sweet nature and beautiful smile.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Roger Glenn and his wife, Kandy of Tampa, Florida; Susan Greer-Doherty and her husband, Merv, of Cedar Creek, TX; Sylvia Greer (Burrell) Williams of Raleigh; Paul Greer and his wife, Bronna; and Margaret Anita Moore of Raleigh. She also leaves her grandchildren: Tiffany Glenn Clayton and husband, Robert of St. Petersburg, FL; Jeffrey Scott Burrell and his wife, Christina of Raleigh; Ashley Burrell Peedin and her husband, Adam of Garner; Sean Burrell and his wife, Rachel of Summerville, SC; Laura Carver and her husband, Stephen of Clemmons, NC; Julianne Scott and her husband, Tom of Myrtle Beach, SC; and great grandchildren: Austin, Addison, Liam, Olivia, Seth, Tristan, Chandler, Kyndal, Khloe, and Kennedy.
