Obituary for:
Ray A. Richardson, Sr.
Age: 80

Ray A. Richardson, Sr, 80 of Lincoln Street, Calcutta, OH past away peacefully in the arms of his daughter Carole and grandson Michael at 5:25AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on December 13, 1928, a son of the late Charles and Julia (Dugan) Richardson.

Living his entire life in this area, he retired in 1988 from Westinghouse where he was an electrician. Mr. Richardson served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 66 and the American Legion.

His wife, Mary (Sharp) Richardson, whom he married on November 4, 1947, died on July 10, 2005.

Three sons: Ray "Randy" Richardson, Jr and his wife Susan of East Liverpool, OH, Allen Richardson and his wife Tammy of East Liverpool, OH and Keith Richardson of Athens, Greece; four daughters: Ruth Ann "Sis" Rudy and her husband Jeffrey of Monaca, PA, Carole L. Fisher of Calcutta, OH, Rosemary Waddle and her husband James of East Liverpool, OH and Janet Richardson of Wintersville, OH; two sisters: Ina Pearl Knowlton and Irene Williams both of East Liverpool, OH; twelve grandchildren: Sandy Timmons,, Bobbie Jo Birch, Jason Timmons, Justin Richardson, Darrah Birch, Lyndi Richardson, Michael Ronshausen, Julie Richardson, Andrew J. "AJ" Waddle, Amy Richardson, Zac Richardson and Nick Richardson as well as eight great grandchildren survive him.

Besides his parents and wife, two brothers: Bud and Ralph Richardson and two sisters: Clarastine Beatty and Verna Black preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Vel Vais of the church officiating and on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Beechwood Free Methodist Church with Rev. Norm Eckert of the church officiating.

Burial will take place in Untied Presbyterian Cemetery in Calcutta.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or Hospice of the Valley or th the Beechwood Free Methodist Church.

The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
