Ray Edward Boyd, a twenty-five year resident of Woodville coming from the Beaumont, Lumberton, and Vidor areas, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2017, Ray was born in Kirbyville, Texas on August 30, 1939 to his parents Earl and Ethel Boyd who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife JoAnn McDaniel Boyd and son, Little Ray Boyd, Jr. Ray was Baptist and liked attending the local Baptist church in Anahuac.
Ray spent his life doing two things he truly loved, one being an X-Ray Technician for L & W.X-Ray Company and two being a musician which meant he was always playing his harmonica and his beloved bass guitars. He also in his younger years enjoyed going fishing.
He is survived by his son, Raymond Boyd and wife Jean of Ivanhoe, daughter, Sherry Boyd Leger of Kountze, four grandchildren, Trey LaRocca and wife Emerald, Sonya Walls, Summer Walls, Hollie Walls, and four great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Monday December 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
